Why would I want to wash out my sinuses?
-
Every day our nasal passages encounter pollen, mold, dust, and other pollutants found in the environment. Our nasal passages also serve as a primary path through which fungi, germs, and other airborne infectious diseases enter the body. Daily nasal hygiene is very important to helping ensure overall health and well-being. In fact, daily nasal washing is now considered a primary treatment for allergies and other sinus issues, and can be extremely valuable in helping to prevent illnesses such as the flu.

Are LAVI products endorsed by the medical profession?
-

The effectiveness of the Dead Sea formula used in our LAVI sinus solutions has been confirmed through numerous third party clinical studies, including those conducted by Dr. Michael Friedman, a world-renowned Otolaryngologist and Researcher, and proven to be more effective than other isotonic and hypertonic saline solutions.

-
Why should I use LAVI Dead Sea Sinus Solutions instead of other nasal products?
-
Only LAVI is made using a patented formula that draws on the natural power of the mineral-rich Dead Sea. Unlike other saline or seawater solutions, LAVI Sinus Solutions offer benefits made possible because of the composition and concentration of mineral deposits unique to the Dead Sea. Among these benefits is a powerful, natural anti-inflammatory that reduces swelling and congestion, opening nasal passages for quick relief. In fact, LAVI Dead Sea Sinus Wash and Nasal Spray have been clinically proven in peer-reviewed medical studies to be more effective than other saline or seawater products and as effective as topical nasal steroids without the risks.
-
Which LAVI Nasal product should I use? The Sinus Wash, Nasal Spray or the Nasal Moisturizer?
-
LAVI’s products may be used individually however, for best results, use them together as a Nasal Hygiene System to maintain sinus health and prevent disease:
- LAVI Nasal Wash is designed for use twice daily, usually once in the morning and again in the evening, to thoroughly cleanse the sinus passages, washing away allergens, germs and other pollutants. More severe circumstances, such as hay fever season, may call for more frequent daily use.
- LAVI Nasal Spray is designed for more severe allergy sufferers and/or those suffering from upper respiratory illnesses, to provide proven, powerful relief from swelling and congestion, making it easier to breathe. An all natural decongestant, LAVI Nasal Spray can be used throughout the day or as often as required to help manage allergy symptoms and sinus problems without the risk of addiction or other harmful side effects such as rebound nasal congestion.
- LAVI Nasal Moisturizer provides gentle, soothing relief for dry nasal passages, lubricating and drawing moisture into the nasal passages – vital to maintaining healthy sinuses.
-
I experience a slight tingling, or burning, sensation when I use LAVI Sinus Wash. Is this normal?
-
Whether you're new to sinus washing or not, most find it to be a refreshing, comfortable experience. Occasionally, however, because LAVI Sinus Wash is all natural and contains no additional buffering agents, one might experience a slight tingling or burning sensation until the pH level in the nasal passages normalize to the solution being used. Typically, this sensation will diminish on repeated use. If the sensation continues, try dosing LAVI Sinus Wash Concentrate at half the prescribed amount, and work towards the prescribed level as comfort allows.
-
My LAVI Dead Sea Sinus Wash is a light tea color…is it safe to use?
-
Absolutely. Because LAVI Nasal products are made using natural, purified minerals from the Dead Sea, a change in color is expected and perfectly normal. This change, which can occur faster if the product is exposed to warmer temperatures, does NOT dilute the effectiveness of the product.
-
LAVI recommends using only 4 to 6 ounces of Sinus Wash. Is this enough water volume?
-
Yes. Our medical experts agree that 4 to 6 ounces (2 - 3 ounces per nostril) is more than adequate for a thorough wash. The LAVI dispensing bottle, which includes a medically developed self-orienting tip, is designed to properly direct flow and provide optimum relief with a 4 to 6 ounce application.
-
Can I warm the LAVI Sinus Wash solution before use?
-
For greater comfort, you may wish to slightly warm the purified water used when mixing with LAVI Sinus Wash Concentrate, however, care should be taken to ensure water is not overheated. Do not use hot, boiling, or cold water. NOTE: We do not recommend warming the LAVI Ready To Use Sinus Wash, unless you are using it in a secondary single-use dispenser such as a Neti pot.
-
I lost the dosing cup that came with my Sinus Wash Kit. Can you tell me how much Sinus Wash Concentrate I should use?
-
Yes. The amount of Sinus Wash Concentrate you will mix with distilled or purified water depends upon the total volume of water you are using. Add 6 ml (approximately 1-1/4 teaspoons) of Sinus Wash Concentrate to 4 oz. of distilled or purified water; add 9 ml (approximately 1-3/4 teaspoons) of Sinus Wash Concentrate to 6 oz. of distilled or purified water; add 12 ml (approximately 2-1/2 teaspoons) of Sinus Wash Concentrate to 8 oz. of distilled or purified water.
